If you follow the blog, you know what a huge and loyal
Gilt Groupe fan I am. Thanks to the luxury sample sale site, I've added a
Geren Ford pencil skirt, an
Allegra Hicks caftan and
Alexander McQueen for Samsonite luggage to my closet this year (none of which I'd have been able to afford without
Gilt).
Now, I'll finally get to put my
McQueen carry-on to use, as the geniuses behind
Gilt bring us
Jetsetter, a sample sale-type site dedicated to travel. With exclusive deals on hotels (
Venice!
NYC!
Vegas!), spas, resorts, bed and breakfasts, luxury cruises and more,
Jetsetter offers its members exclusive access to the most quality stays in the world. And, like its
Gilt-y
counterpart, all boutiques are hand-selected, so we are privy to the latest and greatest travel destinations as well as the little-known gems.
Like Gilt Groupe, Jetsetter is invitation-only. To receive an invitation, leave your name and e-mail address in our comments section and I'll send one your way.
Happy travels!

The New York Times recently offered to pair anyone looking to revamp their crib on a budget with a New York City-based decorator who could help. Sasha Haines-Styles, communications VP for fashion designer Cynthia Steffe, wrote into the paper, which enlisted the services of Mary L. Chan, an interior designer out of Brooklyn.
Having just made the move from a Manhattan brownstone to a (comparably) sprawling Brooklyn loft, Haines-Styles claimed the space felt "awkward and incomplete." With a budget of $5,000 and an endless supply of creativity and resourcefulness, Chan redesigned the loft into Haines-Styles' dream home.
Personally, I love the finished product. The NYT article offers an interactive peak into the loft, complete with tips on how to achieve a similar look, a blueprint of the new layout and a budget breakdown.
Check it out

Burberry Prorsum served as the finale show to
London's fashion week this afternoon, and what a finale it was. Design head
Christopher Bailey delivered an incredibly feminine (but not overly so), youthful and vibrant collection to a crowdful of A-listers (
Emma Watson, Gwenyth Paltrow and
Mary-Kate Olsen, to name a few in the front row). The line (my favorite of the season) is the stuff of dreams: a heavenly palate, touches of metallics, impeccable draping, and whimsical, yet edgy renditions of
Burberry's signature trench. Enjoy!
Note: I know I've posted an inordinate amount of photos here, but I just couldn't help myself. (photos courtesy of Style.com).

While sipping on my morning chai, I came across
this sweet little article ("Yes, We Speak Cupcake") in the
Dining section of the
New York Times website. Gourmet cupcake shops have cropped up all over the
US over the past few years, and as the article suggest, these tasty indulgences have now become an international (and royal) obsession.
Swathed in green tweed, the models at
Chanel's Fall 2009 show ushered in this season's must-have color: jade. For most of us,
Chanel suits, no matter how fabulous, are out of budget. Luckily, the design house has made the coveted color more accessible, with its newly introduced
Jade nail polish.
The hue graced the manicured hands of many a fashionista (from Rachel Bilson to Drew Barrymore) at New York Fashion Week, a color I'm sure we'll see plenty of throughout the fall/winter seasons.

I stumbled upon an essay written by Said Sayrafiezadeh and loved it so much, I decided to look further. I came across this book and after sampling a few pages, I fell in love and purchased it. Now I can't put it down...totally recommend it!
