Just a quick pic I snapped yesterday. I've always loved the flower vendors here--what a great, inexpensive way to brighten someone's day (or apartment!)

These Streets Will Make You Feel Brand New
Big news, readers:
I am officially a New Yorker.
I moved up last week with a two suitcases in tow and a few great girlfriends to call on. Since then, I've been busy getting my room (and life) in order and coordinating job interviews, sending out resumes, etc. Of course, I've been taking in the city, too, and am really feeling so lucky and at peace.
I'll have more updates this afternoon, but I'll leave you now with a photo I took from my iPhone: NYC from the watertaxi I took to Ikea in Brooklyn.

Lobster Tales
A few weeks ago, Carl and I cooked a lobster and steak dinner. Correction...Carl and I cooked our very first live lobster dinner.
Armed with a recipe from LobsterHelp.com, a camera and big appetites, we trekked to our neighborhood market and purchased a very lively one-pound crustacean.
I wanted to give the little guy a name but Carl refused.
Upon returning home from the market, I mistakenly thought our lobster had died. Here he is springing back to life in our sink.

I know it may seem a bit cruel, but we had a great time cooking together and our meal was delicious. We enjoyed a starter salad, the lobster (and butter sauce), steak and a bit of fettucine pasta. Very filling...very tasty.

The Little Things
I woke up this morning to the sweetest note and a lovely sprig of lavender phlox on my windshield. What a perfect way to start the day; I feel so grateful to have such a thoughtful boyfriend.
This small gesture of love made me wildly happy. Take the time to do a little something extra for a special someone in your life today.

Movin’ On Up
Hello, dear readers. I apologize I've been so scarce around here lately; my boyfriend and I have been moving into a new house (!) all week and have been knee-deep in moving boxes and cleaning solution. Things are definitely shaping up, and I expect that I'll have some time this evening to make a decent post.
In the meantime, if anyone has any moving/decorating/furnishing tips you'd like to share, please do. I'll be posting pictures ASAP. That is, when I finally unearth my camera...
